Nashville Public Radio (WPLN News, WNXP, and Nashville Classical Radio) is in high-growth mode, doubling our size in the last two years and heading toward even more stratospheric goals. As our new Senior Engineer, you will help our organization expand smartly and strategize on how to technically support bigger and better work.
Primary Responsibilities
- Minimum five years’ experience in engineering positions.
- Experience installing and configuring Wide Orbit automation and WheatNet-IP systems is essential.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of Nashville Public Radio’s production and distribution technologies, including computer, automation, broadcast, production, and transmission systems.
- Advise the Chief Engineer, VP of Finance and Technology and other senior management in developing and implementing an on-going strategy for evaluating the organization’s technical facility to insure it is current with available technology.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the execution of preventive maintenance and engineering procedures.
- Maintain schematic diagrams and other such documentation as necessary to expedite troubleshooting and expansion of technical facilities.
- Assure strict adherence to FCC rules and regulations in all technical operations and oversee the maintenance and quality control of all broadcast equipment.
- Recommend system upgrades and modification to the Chief Engineer and VP of Finance and Technology to keep systems efficient and dependable.
- Perform other duties as required by the Chief Engineer, VP of Financial and Technology and other senior management.
- Work cooperatively with others to further the mission and goals of the organization.
