Megan Jones

Megan has done a little of everything in the digital media-sphere. Before working on podcasts and radio, she worked for a tech start-up and Silicon Valley consulting group before founding an ecommerce tech company in Memphis. In her role as CEO, she successfully grew the company, appearing on Inc. magazine’s list of “Fastest Growing Private Companies” four years in a row.

Megan then (finally!) acted on her love for public radio by co-producing “Shake It, A Modern Polaroid Love Story” public radio documentary. “Shake It” debuted on WNYC and went on to air on over 55 public radio stations across the country. She also worked to develop her live event production and storytelling chops: Megan was a regional producer for The Moth in the Bay Area, producing 75 sold-out live events in Berkeley and San Francisco.

The mix of art, audio, storytelling, and technology moved Megan to work in a couple of new spheres. She worked with both podcast producers, media, and corporate clients, developing online and digital strategy for Ear Hustle, The Stoop, Epic Digital, Genentech, and the Al Jazeera podcast network. She and her partner were then both recruited by Meow Wolf and moved to Santa Fe. At Meow Wolf Megan was a senior program manager for digital storytelling, developing custom software, mobile apps, hardware, and inclusive design programs for the Las Vegas and Denver exhibits.

Megan is delighted to talk about her passions - she has been a speaker on storytelling, audio, and podcasting at IDEO, Google, Designers + Geeks, University of San Francisco, and the Digital Summit and was an instructor at University of California at Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. She will also happily talk your ear off about birds and cats (especially raptors, birds who have bird hardware with cat software). She is happy to be back in the South where she grew up, and especially glad to be in Nashville with family and friends.
