Building Your Legacy
Legacy gifts are simple to establish, open to anyone, and will have long-lasting impact on future generations
Ways to Give
- Specific bequest in your will
When you name Nashville Public Radio in your will or trust, you leave a percentage of your estate, a specific amount, a residual amount, or a specific property to Nashville Public Radio. Assets are later transferred to Nashville Public Radio with potential estate tax savings for your heirs. - Life insurance
Designate Nashville Public Radio as a beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy. You can also give your paid-up policy to the organization. This means future support at little cost to you, and tax savings for your heirs. - 401(k) retirement plans
Name Nashville Public Radio as a beneficiary on your IRA or qualified retirement plan to receive a percentage of what remains when the plan ends. Giving through your retirement account is one of the most tax-wise ways to give. - IRA charitable rollover
These kinds of gifts can satisfy your immediate required minimum distribution without increasing your income taxes (there are several requirements you must meet in order to qualify). You will not pay taxes on your IRA withdrawal when given to Nashville Public Radio. - Charitable gift annuity
Your money is invested by Nashville Public Radio with an agreement to provide fixed annuity payments to you for your lifetime with an immediate charitable tax deduction. - Charitable remainder trust
Your assets are irrevocably placed in a trust. Beneficiaries receive income for life or for the term of the trust. Remaining assets are given to Nashville Public Radio.
Legacy Society donors receive distinctive benefits including:
- Invitations to special events featuring national and local public radio personalities
- Private tours of the Nashville Public Radio studios upon request
- Special insider updates and communications from station leadership
