Spring Fund Drive Drawing: Details Of The Croatia Trip

On the final day of our Spring Membership Campaign, we're giving away a five-night trip for two to Croatia. The trip includes airfare and hotel, and it can be taken anytime you'd like — as long as you book it within the next year. (Complete drawing rules are here.)

As it happens, our afternoon host Natasha Senjanovic has Croatian roots. And by coincidence, our CEO Rob Gordon recently took a trip there. So, we've seen a lot of pictures, heard a lot of stories, and we're quite sure that whoever wins this trip will find the country captivating.

Located just across the Adriatic Sea from Italy, Croatia is home to more than a thousand islands and famously pristine turquoise waters — more beaches than you could explore in a lifetime.

If you watch HBO's Game of Thrones, the red rooftops and blue sea of Dubrovnic — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — might remind you of King's Landing. No coincidence - those scenes of the show are filmed there. The fortified city dates back to the 7th century and is among the most popular destinations in Croatia.

The town of Pula is home to one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world (built from 27 B.C. to 68 A.D.), and the 1700 year-old city of Split began as the summer home of a Roman emperor.

Croatia is also known for its happening food scene, where seafood and locally-produced wines abound. In the fall, you can even attend a truffle festival.

Home to 4.5 million people, Croatia is proud of its 99% literacy rate. And the country has lots of English speakers, so you should have no trouble getting around.

The trip to Croatia can be tailored to your tastes. It'll be up to the winner to contact our travel agency and map out your adventure.

Good luck in the drawing!
