Longtime Tennessee Crossroads Producer Dies After A Fall

Aug 31, 2016

The man behind "Tennessee Crossroads" has died.

Executive producer Ken Simington started working on the travel show when it launched back in 1987. It's now the highest-rated locally-produced show across the public TV system, according to Nielsen ratings.

Nashville Public Television CEO Beth Curley calls Simington the "granddaddy of NPT's production staff" who will be "sorely missed."

He died at his home Tuesday night after a fall. Simington is survived by his wife, sons and grandchildren.
