Live Streams — Help and FAQ

What is the pop-up player?

The pop-up player is a live stream audio player where you'll find all 4 of our live streams in tabs. It is mobile friendly and should be compatible with any of your devices. Simply launch the pop-up player from the "Listen Live" button at the top right of our website.

How do I use iTunes or some other player?

On our live streams page, click the link of the stream you want to listen to in the "Live MP3 Streams" section. Whatever player is set as the default for opening MP3 files on your computer should launch and begin streaming.

What's the best way to listen on a phone?

If you have an iPhone or Android, you can use our stand-alone app. Our pop-up player is also mobile-friendly and should work on any device with a web browser.

How do I get the best sound quality?

Our news and information channels are streamed at 64 kbps, mono, which we've found to be a good balance of sound quality and performance over most networks. We also have low bitrate streams (16 kbps, mono) of our news and information channels, for slow connections. Classical 91.1 is streamed in 96 kbps, stereo, for a better music listening experience. The highest quality stream for 90.3 WPLN-FM can be found on iTunes Radio. The bitrate of that stream varies, depending on your connection speed.
