Event Description

Blair School of Music faculty & Nashville Symphony members come together for a concert of chamber music by composers who were profoundly affected by the Holocaust beginning at 8pm in Turner Recital Hall at Blair. The program will feature works by composers Pavel Haas & Erwin Schulhoff who died in concentration camps. Shostakovich used Jewish themes in his music to demonstrate resistance to the Soviet regime. The music of current Blair composer Michael Alec Rose embodies his Jewish heritage.
