Event Description

Southern Women for Civil Rights & Southern Word – the nonprofit organization dedicated to reconnecting students with their education & community through the literary & performing arts will host an event that will ask & answer "What does it mean to be Southern?” The event will be from 7pm - 8:30pm at The Cordelle on Lindsley Avenue. Spoken word youth poets, community leader Joyce Searcy & a musical guest will ask & seek to answer the question while celebrating what makes Nashville such a diverse & embracing city. The event will feature DJ VU Reggaerica & Southern-inspired food tastings from City House, Henrietta Red, Two Ten Jack, Chef Lisa Donovan, & more.
