The country singer, touring artist and – now – online video distributor, Brad Paisley is branching out with a new digital channel about the country lifestyle: grilling, hunting, and life on the road.

The official launch of My Country Nation is scheduled for next week. Until then, details are sketchy. Initial video posts seem to indicate there will be a strong dose of Paisley sharing what he likes: “My favorite era of country music is the sixties. I loved what was happening in Bakersfield.”

It’s not unlike Gywnneth Paltrow talking about fashion or favorite workouts on her lifestyle website.

But My Country Nation will also be the launching point for original video programming starring talent picked from YouTube and Vine. That could put Paisley’s project in direct competition with other digital channels—or the country-themed content produced by cable networks like CMT.

For now, My Country Nation is largely populated by tweets and Instagram postings. Most are from the site’s retail sponsor, WalMart, or other country musicians represented by the William Morris Agency–one of Paisley’s partners behind the web channel.
