Safety officials at Nashville’s airport discovered a loaded pistol in carry-on bag Monday. According to the Transportation Safety Administration, six rounds of ammunition were in the firearm itself, with another six elsewhere in the bag.
So far this year, 43 weapons have been found in Nashville carry-ons. The only way guns can be legally transported by plane is to be in checked luggage, unloaded, and passengers are required to let the airline know the weapon is there.
