VIDEO: Mayor Dean’s ‘State Of Metro’ Address

Mayor Karl Dean gave his annual “State of Metro” address Monday, just after cutting the ribbon at Nashville’s largest ever public building project.

Among other things, the mayor used the speech to announce the creation of a $3 million affordable housing trust fund and to express optimism that his bus-rapid transit plan can garner federal funding, despite Congressman Cooper’s doubts. Here’s a video of the speech in its entirety, courtesy of Metro.

Since the first publication of this video, the mayor’s office has removed Brad Paisley’s performance, in which he forgets the words to his song, “Welcome to the Future.” A representative says that’s because youtube sent their account a copyright notice. If the office provides written permission, Paisley’s song will be replaced soon.

In the meantime, if you want to see Paisley’s performance, check out this video from The Tennessean.
