It’s unanimous. Vanderbilt University’s baseball team is number one according to all five polls. It’s the first time since 2007 that the Commodores have held the undisputed top spot.

Coach Tim Corbin says he puts virtually no stock in the rankings.

“Now, ask me that question in July, and I might have a different answer. Because if you’re on top of the polls then, you’ve done something.”

Vanderbilt’s baseball team took its first trip to the College World Series in 2011.

They finish the regular season this week with four home games. Vanderbilt hosts cross-town rival Belmont tonight. A three-game series against Alabama starts Thursday.
