Newcomers Lead The Nomination List For Americana Awards

Nominations for the Americana Music Awards were announced today, with husband and wife duo from Charleston leading the pack.

Shovels and Rope are nominated for Emerging Artist and Duo of the Year, have a Song of the Year nod for the single “Birmingham,” plus an Album of the Year Nomination for O’ Be Joyful.

Veterans Emmylou Harris and Buddy Miller are right behind with three nominations each.

The prizes will be handed out September 18 at the Ryman Auditorium during the Americana Music Festival.
