Goodlettsville’s little-league all-stars came home to a heroes’ welcome Monday after making it to a World Series final. Though the team ultimately lost to Japan in the last game, the mood at the team’s ‘welcome home’ ceremony was jubilant.

“Let’s all welcome the 2012 little-league United States champions!” “WHOO…”

Hundreds of people crowded around City Hall to cheer and snap pictures as the smiling, tired-looking boys got off a bus from the airport. Mayor John Coombs praised the team for representing the country as well as Goodlettsville.

“I have never in all my years in this community seen such and outpouring of support, of love, and embracing a team that is well deserving.” “YEAAHHH”

From the podium each player greeted the crowd, but none added more than a quick word of thanks. Officials are planning a bigger celebration for the team September 8th.
