88:88 is the kind of film you can’t exactly describe without giving too much away.

The mysterious story told almost entirely without words has been chosen for several traditional film festivals. And now it’s giving Nashville’s Joey Ciccoline a chance to catch the eye of Sir Ridley Scott, whose production company is running the YouTube Your Film competition.

Online voting will pick ten finalists. Those will be shown in Italy at the Venice Film Festival. Then a jury, including Scott and actor Michael Fassbender, will pick the ultimate winner. The prize is half a million dollars to make another short under the umbrella of his company.
