Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich is spending the day in Middle Tennessee ahead of the state’s Super Tuesday primary next week.
The former House Speaker’s agenda includes a healthcare roundtable, a luncheon at a downtown law firm, and a meeting with state Republican lawmakers. Gingrich is also hosting a “town hall rally” outside the state capitol at 3 o’clock, and a thousand-dollars-per-couple fundraiser tonight in Franklin.
Meanwhile officials with Mitt Romney’s campaign in Tennessee have scheduled a “grassroots meeting” tonight to lay out their game plan for the state. Election day is March 6th.
Over the weekend candidate Rick Santorum also visited Tennessee, headlining a tea party forum in Chattanooga.
