June Tax Collections Above Budgeted Estimates

Tennessee’s tax collections for June came in above state estimates, marking the 11th straight month of the budget year that collections proved higher than expected.

State Finance and Administration Commissioner Mark Emkes says June revenues were about 3 percent above budgeted estimates. He says while that reflects a good trend overall, the latest national data suggest the economy will recover very slowly. Emkes says that underscores the need for vigilance to ensure a balanced budget.
