Online Sales Boosts Leads to More Macy’s Jobs

Macy’s, Inc. plans to expand its Robertson County warehouse, a move that company officials say will add about 250 jobs next year.

The facility in Portland fills orders from the Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s websites. Company officials say their online sales rose nearly 20 percent last year, and so far in 2010 they’ve gone up another 30 percent.
Macy’s opened the order fulfillment center in 2007. The expansion is scheduled to be complete by fall 2011.
