Outsourcing Custodians Becomes Release Valve for School Budget Cuts

Custodians have become prime targets for school districts in a budget pinch. Metro Nashville Public Schools has joined systems in New Jersey, Michigan and Indiana who are planning to outsource custodians next year. Privatization is seen as a way to preserve the classroom, but it comes with a human toll. WPLN’s Blake Farmer reports.
