Predators End Naming-Rights Agreement, Sue Sommet Group

The Nashville Predators ended naming rights today with the Sommet Group for the downtown arena where the hockey team plays.

The team has filed a lawsuit against the Franklin-based company saying it was failing to “fulfill its payment obligations.”

In a statement, the team says it tried to “reach out to Sommet Group,” but felt the company gave no indication that it would work out payments.

This was to be the last year of the naming-rights agreement.

The team says in the next few weeks it will propose a new name for the arena to Metro’s Sports Authority.
