After more than two decades in Congress, Murfreesboro Democrat Bart Gordon was given the chairmanship of the House Science Committee this year. In the midst of contentious debates and presidential vetoes, Gordon has tried to make his committee a model of bipartisanship. Now, committee members from both sides of the aisle are pressing NASA to make a massive air safety study public. WPLN’s Nina Cardona recently spoke with Gordon about his efforts to build bridges with Republicans-and what he calls NASA’s shocking choice to keep information from the public.
